OpenSolaris is still kinda around today
in 2010 it seemed like Oracle was gonna kill OpenSolaris so it was forked to Illumos and development continues to this day
OpenIndiana is the main distrobution of Illumos
I dont think it is that good compared to the likes of Linux and even BSD
As not that much attention gets drawn to it so no one devs for it becuase they havnt even heard of it
my proof of this is the most popular video on Illumos, OpenSolaris or OpenIndiana has only 267k views https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zRN7XLCRhc

What i am using to present is actually a ffv1 encoded video at 1 fps in mpv and i am jsut stepping thru it frame by frame
